We’re excited to announce the acquisition of new client Irvins’ Brasserie, the exciting new dining experience opening in September 2010 on the North Shields’ Fish Quay. The new account covers all aspects of marketing and promotion leading up to and following launch. We’re developing total brand, design, website and social networking, E-marketing, SEO work and print solutions.

Account Manager Rebecca Simpson is aware how important it is that the brand reflects Irvins’ owner Graeme Cuthell’s relaxed and friendly approach. She commented: “We’re focusing much of our effort on engaging the local community through teaser campaigns and online activity. Irvins will be high quality, stylish and modern but with a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The Fish Quay is a local gem and Irvins will add mouthwatering extra flavour”.

Take a seat

Leading national furniture superstore ScS asked us to build a bigger, better website which would focus on e-commerce and the increase of online sales. Our development work was tailored to give the highest quality customer experience. Applying clean design and easy functionality we created a shopping experience that recreates the in-store experience… all crucial elements for customer retention and sales conversion.

We refined the ScS search facility, allowing customers to narrow their searches and find what they want in just a few clicks. Furniture lovers are now able to easily search through options such as colour, size and price to quickly determine the product that’s right for them. On selecting an item, shoppers are able to zoom in on the product and also enlarge fabric swatches when making a sofa choice.

Right Royal Giveaway

July 26th brings the start of Royal Quays biggest promotion of the year. Orchestrated by Armadillo, the Right Royal Giveaway is 6 weeks of offers and competitions open to anyone visiting Royal Quays or the Royal Quays Website before September 6th.

Armadillo have devised the concept for weekly competitions and offers changing throughout the 6-week campaign. The joint idea of bringing online and in-store promotions to Royal Quays has allowed Armadillo to push the Right Royal Giveaway out to a much wider audience.

Having run very successful competitions for Royal Quays in March and April a decision to combine new competitions coupled with great store offers is ideal. This will give the summer holiday customer base at Royal Quays a real incentive to take advantage of the fantastic offers, while boosting website traffic and consequently increasing footfall.

It would be virtually impossible to have escaped the coverage of the Raoul Moat manhunt in Northumberland last week. Last Tuesday we were contacted by our clients Sec-Tech UK who had been contacted by the world media to discuss the developments in the man hunt.

Sec-Tech’s specialist tactical team made up almost entirely of retired Police Officers with specialist skills and expert training provided all the major news channels with continuous first-hand experience on how the police were dealing with this major incident.

Bob Morrison director Sec-Tech UK said “We contacted Armadillo straight away to ask for advice. They recommended press releases to keep our industry and clients updated, used Twitter and Facebook and when the situation escalated beyond all recognition created a Raoul Moat webpage within 2 hours. The resulting hits to our website during the incident went up by 1000%, yes staggering figures; we also achieved the first page on every search engine”

The Bigger, Better and Badder Brass Gorilla!

The 2010 Brass International Festival has officially been launched to the North East public. The campaign features a brass-playing cool Gorilla who is the brand character for Brass. Berry Burgess, Managing Director of Armadillo said: “I wanted to have something that was irreverent and unexpected to spearhead the Brass brand and create complete separation. I didn’t want another ‘One man and his trumpet’.... so we created One Big Gorilla and his small trumpet! All that’s missing is a name for the gorilla, but I think social network sites Facebook and Twitter may solve this shortly”.

Thousands turn up to see the dark side

In Easter Armadillo Creative organised the Star Wars Event at the Royal Quays Shopping Outlet in North Shields. Featuring famous characters from the movie and members of the 99th Imperial Garrison. Nearly 20,000 people turned up on Easter Monday to see the event which also help raise funds for the RNLI Tynemouth Lifeboat Appeal.

Judith Ramshaw, Centre Manager at Royal Quays, said, “The event was planned as a fun way to give something back to our customers, old and new. We see Royal Quays as a family day out, and this event was definitely great fun for all the family and hopefully leave a lasting impression, especially the photographs that are available to take home the same day.” The donations go to the RNLI Lifeboat Appeal which is a great local cause. There’s was not just some great events to see and take part in, we also had two prizes of two authentic, collectible Stormtrooper costumes, worth £1000 each that were won on our online competition. The footfall at the centre was amazing and the event was a huge success for both the customers and the tenants. Due to the success Star Wars will return to Royal Quays later in the year as well.

Steps to successful email

Email has progressively moved a way from simply sending monthly newsletters. Rebecca Simpson offers a guide to successful email campaigning.
Collecting The right data
The first element of any email marketing campaign starts with the data , the people that you are going to be communicating with. The more you know about these people, the more relevant you can make your communications. This then means that the more relevant something is, the greater your chance of interaction and thus the chance of purchase.
Data helps us make communications relevant – therefore the most important part of your email marketing is making sure you get your data right.
Web sign up forms that are too long will never be completed. The reason being that we see giving our data away as a transactional process, the more data we give away, the more we want in return. Few people are prepared to spend 10 minutes of their lives completing a form to simply sign up for an email newsletter . Some however may be prepared to spend 10 minutes giving data if it is going to get us an amazing offer. In short we need to consider the value of our proposition to the customer to decide how much data we can collect.
