Faster than a speeding cop…
Vrooooooommmmmm!!!!
A police driver who was recently let off when caught speeding at 159 m.p.h., on the grounds that he was “familiarising himself with a new car”.
So its official – a policeman can drive at 159mph on a motorway and at speeds exceeding 65mph in a built up area – not only does he escape a charge for dangerous driving, he even escapes a speeding charge. Anyone else, ( apart from footballers, celebrities, magistrates and members ofparliament ) do 36mph on an A road and get fined £60. But Barry Sheen gets congratulated by the judge for being a zealous cop for testing his car.
So it’s one law for them, another for us. What I want to know is, why do the police need a car that can do 160 mph? If there’s some loony on a super-bike doing a ton-and-a-half down a busy motorway, are they really going to give chase? Wouldn’t that mean there’s going to be two loonies doing a ton-and-a-half down a busy motorway? Isn’t that what they have helicopters for?

Well at least there is some justice for police whom commit traffic crimes.
